The Delicious of Raw Fish Dishes Gohu Fish or Ternate style Sashimi

lautnusantara.com Gohu ikan is a typical Ternate food made from raw Tuna or Cakalang fish which is also called Ternate Sashimi or Ternate Ceviche by some people.[1] This type of food among Ternate people and for tourists who come to Ternate because of "Gohu Fish", contains good values ​​in the context of health. It is said that because the main ingredient in Gohu Ikan food is fresh sea fish. The sea fish that are often used are tuna and skipjack tuna. These two types of fish contain high and healthy nutrition, namely they have high protein and omega-3 fatty acid content which is useful for the body.

 

Fresh tuna meat is cut into small pieces, washed, then smeared with salt and lemon juice (a kind of lime that is fragrant and yellow-orange inside), then mixed with coarsely chopped balakama (basil) leaves. Shallots and cayenne pepper (called rica gufu in Ternate) are coarsely chopped, then sauteed with a little coconut oil. Hot coconut oil with shallots and cayenne pepper is then poured onto pieces of raw tuna. Then sprinkle with coarsely ground fried peanuts.

 

Even though it is not cooked over fire, the reddish tuna meat will become white because it is sprinkled with lemon juice. The fish meat is already cooked due to the influence of the lemon juice. Gohu fish is best eaten with banana or boiled cassava as a source of carbohydrates.

 

Gohu fish has a distinctive taste, with a combination of sour, sweet and spicy flavors. The texture of raw fish gives a fresh and delicious impression. Gohu fish can be made with different variations of fish, such as tuna, tuna, or snapper.
