Here Is How To Make Classic Shrimp Scampi Dish

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons (56g) unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) white wine or can be substitute with chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons (8g) fresh parsley, chopped
  • 8 ounces (225g) linguine or spaghetti, cooked according to package instructions

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  2. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
  3. In the same skillet, pour in the white wine and lemon juice. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 2 minutes, allowing the alcohol to evaporate. Stir in the red pepper flakes and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and add the cooked linguine or spaghetti to the skillet. Toss the pasta in the sauce until well coated.
  5. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and gently toss them with the pasta. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the shrimp are heated through.
  6. Drizzle the olive oil over the shrimp scampi and sprinkle the chopped parsley on top. Give it a final toss to combine all the flavors.
  7. Remove the skillet from heat and serve the shrimp scampi immediately. You can garnish it with additional parsley if desired.
